Trying to follow the thread of Friday's column (Why insist on income tax cuts amid budget shortfalls? by Janelle Stecklein) was difficult when the author kept making my points (against hers) for me!
"Sure, it would be nice to have a few extra dollars in our pockets." This after telling us: "perhaps we're not ready to cut any more taxes." What do you mean "we" would be my retort.
She gives the ants vs grasshopper story implying "we" are grasshoppers! I'll go back to before she was born for an analogy: "Patience, young grasshopper."*
*The expression "patience, young grasshopper," comes from the 1970's television show "Kung Fu," which starred David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin monk. Caine was frequently referred to as a "grasshopper" by his master, Master Po.
